A DIY Project Gone Right
Hi Loves!
I hope your week is shaping up to be great one. If you are like me you have added a million different pins to a DIY board, but never get to them or you try them and fail miserably. I have done this so many times, but I am happy to report that over my Christmas vacation I had a lot of time on my hands and I decided to make wine bottle flower holders. Now I was nervous because I have tried other crafts and they have not turned out right. I was a sorority girls so for me to try and craft and fail was hard, but my wine bottles turned out great. Below are the steps I took to make them.
Step One: Get two or how many ever bottles you need for your project. Also make sure that they are all the same size. I also made sure that both of mine had the same tint this is not required but I was worried about how the paint would go on to the different tinted bottles.
Step two: Fill your sink up with dish soap and water. Add the wine bottles to the soap and water. Let them soak for a couple of hours. I went and checked on mine every once and a while to to start to see if the label was ready to come off yet or not.
Step three: Peel the labels off the bottles. Not all of my label came off, but if this happens don't sweat it just make this the back.
Step four: Paint the bottles. I chose to use regular acrylic paint, but spray paint would also work. I picked the color black so I only had to use one coat. However, lighter colors may need more than one coat.
Step five: Let dry and put flowers in them. I got my flowers from Wal-Mart for $3 a piece, but you can also get them at Hobby Lobby or Micheals.
Once you do this you are done with your wine bottle project and you have new home decor that is cheaper than going to buy it.
