Showing Grace

Hello Friends!

Grace...what is it is? We hear the word use so often especially if we are regular church goers, but how many of us really grasp the true concept of grace and how to show it to other people. I can tell you for a fact that I struggle with it everyday. So what is it?

Grace is to honor or credit someone. I would also add when they don't deserve it. That seems easy enough right? We just give honor and credit to our close friends and family. Wrong! God call us to give grace to each and everyone even when we do not see eye to eye with a person. So how do we do this? Well, I am not an expert, but these are the ways that I have found to show grace to people.

1. Forgive people even when you don't want to. It is so easy for us to hold grudges or for us to get so upset when others don't have the same opinion of us, but God says to let all of those things go and forgive those who have wronged you.

2. Don't judge people. It is so easy for us to judge others based on their social media and their friends, but God says to give those people a chance to see them the way he sees them and to accept them.

3. Giving your time to others. It is so easy for us to get caught up in "being busy", but if we stop for a second and just spend quality time with someone who is struggling it would help that person dramatically.

Like I said I am no expert on showing people grace and I will admit that I am not always the best at showing people grace, but I think as we all could do a little better at showing people grace.

Here are some scriptures about grace:

Jeremiah 31:2-3 Thus says the LORD:”The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness; when Israel sought for rest, the LORD appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you. Hebrews 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
