Better Eating Without a Diet

There are so many different diets in the world today for Weight Watchers to Paleo. Everyday it seems like a new diet is introduced and people jump on the band wagon hoping and praying that this diet will work out. In the end I truly believe that most diets don't workout because there are so many restrictions and you just can't seem to keep up with it. That is one reasons that I don't focus on diets, I focus on moderation.

These are just some tips that I keep in mind while I am choosing what to eat.

1. Don't always eat salad, it isn't always healthy especially if you put a lot of unhealthy dressing on it.

2. Eat snacks through out the day that are healthy and filling. Some examples are apples, yogurt, nuts, dry cereal, and carrots + hummus.

3. Make sure to always eat breakfast. Good breakfast choices are blueberry muffins, mixed fruit, eggs with turkey sausage, and bagel with an apple.

4. Give yourself one cheat day every couple of weeks. Eating healthy sometimes gets hard and if you are struggling give yourself one day cheat day. If you don't have a cheat day every once in a while then you will have a cheat week which will turn into a month which will turn into a year.

5. Lunch and dinner should have protein and at least a fruit or vegetable.

6. Don't eat after 9 pm.

7. Don't have carbs at every meal. Carbs should be consumed in moderation.

These are just some of the things that I think about when I am picking my meals or trying to eat right.
